This was our first visit to Cornwall. We came to celebrate my son’s birthday. We’re from NYC but staying in Cardiff for the summer. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The grounds, our room and the view were absolutely lovely. We didn’t have a car so that was difficult. But other than taking a taxi to The Eden Project we spent our four days, three nights at the hotel and we were happy to do so. The little hike back and forth to the private beach is charming. The little lookouts on the property are so serene. The afternoon tea perfect and special. The staff is incredibly accommodating. Leah at the front desk is very sweet and the owner Fiona genuinely kind and helpful in planning your day. Two standouts in the restaurant were Camilla and Dan. All the staff in the restaurant was on point, if a little reserved and cool. But Camilla and Dan were so effortlessly warm to my son and I—especially as it was his birthday. I really appreciated the kindness. We’ll have memories from this place for years to come. We hope to come back.
We had an enchanting and exclusive dinner in one of the most beautiful places in Cornwall. There was Cornwell bread with blossom butter as a stater. Also filled croquettes with tender fillet. as well as asparagus variations for starters and as a main course for vegans a crispy cauliflower breast with asparagus and delicious new potatoes. In addition, tender chicken fillet in different versions with delicious sauce. The staff was great and friendly and we had a quiet evening. Thank you very much for the lovely evening 🌈
We have always come to the Driftwood for special occasions. Although the decor is the same, the chefs have changed as has the menu. Happily for the better. Our asparagus starter was great, and the badger faced lamb (does it really look like that?) was outstanding.
We had a pleasant stay at Driftwood. He rooms were lovely with outdoor seating area. Plenty of outdoor areas with seating with chairs that is very peaceful overlooking the ocean. There is an amazing private beach that is a must visit! Staff are very nice and friendly.
The only reason for 1 star less is the food and price of it. 65 pounds for a two course. And very very very limited options. The quantity is also less for what you pay. I just felt it was not worth eating in here. Breakfast is complementary and was nice and decent selection.
We had lunch here with friends to celebrate my 75th birthday. What a find. I think it deserves a Michelin star, or bib at the very least. Every course was superb, well explained and presented. The secluded location and 180 degree coastal views are breathtakingly beautiful, and the restaurant itself was lovely especially our window table. Hugely enjoyable.
We had the upgrade afternoon tea. It was gorgeous. Alex was so lovely. He made our experience 5*. We highly recommend a visit to this extraordinary venue. Amazing 🍾🥂🍰🧁
We expected the traditional seaside/country hotel feel - white table cloths, quiet and clean, polite staff etc - but what was a surprise was the great food! A trio of different ingredients for each guest - pumpkin soup, cheese in breadcrumbs and trout - for starters. Venison and halibut for mains cooked perfectly both with tasty sauces. Cheese selection and delicious millefleurs with a twist for dessert. A Sunday lunch with a difference - very impressed!
Very nice place, great staff .One thing didn't have a power shower in the the bathroom, shame. Food great and with a private beach.
